The MTV Video Music Awards set its show last night. It seems that for its 25th anniversary, the VMA chose to back up Britney Spears’ comeback. And she did it! She won three awards for all her three nominations, including video of the year with the single “Piece of Me.”
But let’s be honest. After she stumbled in her words, announcing the 25th "anniversity" of the VMAs, she came on stage when she found out she had won but didn’t respond with any kind of contempt or relief to her awards. Thanks God for Russell Brand who woke up the show every time.
Britney Spears wanted to stay as calm as possible. Maybe not to make any more mistakes. Well, the media is said to be evil, but we didn’t enjoy her acting that way. It was a show and she didn’t come up with any of the things that made her a pop-star in the first place.
Britney Spears spoke briefly, thanked God and dedicated the awards to her fans, but no sign of enthusiasm could be seen on her face.
Still, the Jonas Brothers made a show for real! They played their song “Lovebug” and they arrested the audience’s attention through their purity rings, which stand for the vows not to have premarital sex. "I just wanna say, it's not bad to wear a promise ring because not every guy and a girl wants to be a slut, OK?" Jordin Sparks said while presenting an award.
Kayne West, who swore never to come back at VMAs after he didn’t receive any award last year, went home with nothing too. Still, Chris Brown won Best Male Video for “With You.” Linkin Park won Best Rock Video with “Shadow of the Day” and the Pussycat Dolls went home with their Best Dancing in a Video for their performance in “When I Grow Up.”
