Hope Orwick, 35, from Louisville stabbed and killed her two daughters and then she killed herself. The police are now trying to identify the reason for which the woman could have done such a thing. Alicia Smiley, the Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman, said that one of the family members who came to visit them, found their bodies at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The police think that Orwick killed her daughters and then shot herself, the spokeswoman said. Bob Jones, the Jefferson County Deputy Coroner, identified the three victims. He said that the 35-year-old woman had died of the shot in her head and the girls, Emily, 9, and Lindsey, 8, died of stab wounds. An autopsy scheduled on Tuesday will tell exactly how many times they were stabbed. On Monday night, two priests together with nearly 15 family members gathered inside the house, where several investigations were being done. The police tried to find out the real reason for which Orwick decided to end her family’s lives. Mechelle Rockey, 48, a neighbor of theirs, stated that she lived across the street and she had seen the girls playing outside several times. "They were the sweetest little girls. They were cute as a button," the woman added. The other children in the neighborhood were so sad after they had found out about the death of their play companions. Orwick’s husband died three years ago and it seems that she couldn’t pass over his death, a family friend said. She added that since he died, she broke any other of her connections with her friends and isolated herself.
