Madonna and Guy Ritchie Split Up

It has been reported that 50-year-old Madonna will divorce her husband, film director Guy Ritchie. The rumors about the two splitting up started since the end of June, but they denied them. Madonna and Guy have been together for eight years and will soon announce their divorce.

In July, Madonna’s publicist stated that the two have no problems and that they don’t need “saving” their marriage. At that time, they walked arm-in-arm in London’s Leicester Square. During Madonna’s 50 years celebration, Guy rebutted all the rumors about them splitting up. "My marriage is fine, as far as I'm aware of,” the 40-year-old film director said in July.

Madonna and Guy Ritchie met back in 1999 through their friends Sting and Trudie Styler, the singer’s wife. After that, Madonna gave birth to their son, Rocco, in Los Angeles, on August 11, 2000 and she married Guy on December 22, 2000 in Scotland. Beginning from 2008, Madonna stays in Marylebone, London while her country estate is in Tollard Royal, Wiltshire, where she lives with her husband, her two biological children and her adopted son.

Back in 1985, when Madonna was shooting her video for “Material Girl,” she met actor Sean Penn, whom she married in 1986 but they divorced in September 1989. "I was completely obsessed with my career and not ready to be generous in any shape or form,” Madonna said about her failed marriage.

After that, she met fitness trainer Carlos Leon in 1994 with whom she had her elder daughter Lourdes Maria Ciccone. The girl was born in 1996 in Los Angeles. During a visit to Malawi, Madonna decided to adopt little David Banda Mwale on October 10, 2006.
