Four African Union Soldiers Killed In Somalia
Four soldiers belonging to the African Union peacekeeping mission in Somalia were killed Wednesday by the explosion of a bomb in Mogadishu.

The Ugandan soldiers were patrolling in the Somali capital when their vehicle was partially destroyed by a roadside bomb. Five other soldiers were gravely wounded, an official of the African Union informed.

Mogadishu has been ravaged by violent clashes and bomb attacks since the end of 2006 and the Africa Union decided to sent troops in the region. But most of the member countries failed to keep their promise and only 1,500 Ugandan troops arrived in Somalia.

According to a AU report, thousands of troops are needed in the war-torn capital, but at the moment that is not possible, other countries refusing to cooperate. Currently the AU mission is assisted by the remains of the Ethiopian troops which ousted the rebel group that was controlling most of the eastern African territory.

The African country has been without a stabile government for the past decade, as several transitional governments tried to bring to needed stability.
