"Thriller" - Special 25th Anniversary Edition
Twenty-five years after Michael Jackson’s best-selling album “Thriller” was launched, a remixed and remastered anniversary version came out on the market, featuring some popular stars.

Although it is not considered a musical masterpiece, “Thriller” is the best-selling album in the world, having sold 104 million copies. The album was created in a short period of time, in a desperate attempt to save CBS Records’ fiscal year, and nobody expected it to have such an amazing success. Seven of the nine songs on the album have been in top 10, right after the album appeared.

Due to this incredible success, the album broke many racial barriers. During its period of glory, the 14-minutes video “Thriller” was played twice an hour on MTV. Jackson’s girlfriend in the video, Ola Ray, was Playboy magazine’s Miss June, in 1980.

On the occasion of the anniversary album, Michael Jackson released a video in which he thanked his fans for all their support along the years, the Associated Press reports.

"It's hard to believe that 25 years ago Quincy Jones and I embarked on an album named “Thriller.” The album spawned such hits as "Billie Jean," "Beat It" and "Thriller" and introduced the moonwalk to fans all around the world. To be able to say that “Thriller” still holds the record as the biggest selling album of all time is just mind-blowing. I have you, my fans, throughout the world to thank for this achievement," said the 49-year-old star in the above-mentioned video.

Together with the anniversary album comes a DVD containing all the songs’ videos, as well as a 48 pages booklet, all of them wrapped up in a beautiful, lustrous cover, that specifies: "The World's Biggest Selling Album of All Time." The album’s special guests are artists Kanye West, Fergie, Akon and Will.I.Am.
