Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff ruled on
Tuesday that Anna Nicole Smith’s baby daughter is the sole heir to her estate,
according to Reuters. Furthermore the judge established that the fortune will
be administrated by the deceased model’s companion, Howard K. Stern and Larry
Birkhead, Dannielynn’s biological father.
The former Playboy model died on February 8, 2007 in a room
at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood. According to the Broward County
medical examiner, Smith died because of an accidental drug overdose of the sedative chloral hydrate that became
lethal when combined with other prescription drugs in her system.
At the age of 26, Anna Nicole Smith married 89-year-old
billionaire oil tycoon Howard Marshall, who died only 14 months later. As a result between Smith and Marshall’s family a battle
started over Marshall's
estate of $1.6 billion that is still not over. However, if after the settlement
of the dispute Smith is going to win, her daughter Dannielynn would get all the
money.
In 2001, however, Smith drafted a will that left her only
child then, Daniel, the heir of her estate. This happened five years before
Dannielynn was born. However, 20-year-old Daniel died in his mother’s hospital
room in Bahamas,
while visiting Smith and her newborn daughter.
In the will, the Playboy model and actress said that the
assets of her estate must be shared equally, if she had future children. Stern’s
lawyer, Bruce S. Ross, said according to CBS “We and Mr. Stern always believed
that Anna Nicole never intended to disinherit her daughter.”
