Rock Band 2 To Arrive On The Xbox
Rock Band 2 To Arrive On The Xbox

On Monday, the makers of Rock Band 2 announced the game would initially be released for the Xbox console sometime in September.

The games’s developers are Harmonix Music Systems Inc, Electronic Arts Inc and MTV Games. According to the aforementioned three, the new edition is to bring additional instruments, a new soundtrack, as well as an online community.

Once the Xbox version is released, the other gaming consoles will shortly receive their very own editions as well. A lot more is expected to be disclosed at the E3 video game conference in Los Angeles, two weeks from now (July 14-17).

Last month, Rock Band was launched for Nintendo’s Wii in the United States and Canada. Its cost is of $169 and it was released as a Special Edition bundle, which includes the software, a wireless guitar, drums and a microphone, while stand alone instruments were launched on the same day as well. The game came with 63 songs and five bonus tracks.

Since November, when the first game was launched, Rock Band’s online music store, bringing some 200 tracks, recorded more than 15 million downloads.

The game can be played by up to four people; they have to get the notes that appear on the screen right, thus earning points. Although engaged in a close competition with Rock Band, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, launched in October 2007, has become the best-selling single-year video game title of all time, regarding both units and total revenue.
