Barack Obama, democratic presidential, arrived in Berlin
on Thursday. He is now organizing an overseas trip, aiming to gain popularity
and trust among people around the world. He is a candidate for the United
States presidency.
Obama met Chancellor Angela Merkel, who suggested
that his speech should be held at the historic Brandenburg Gate, but thousands
of people everywhere want to attend it, so a bigger place will be needed and
“Victory Column” seems to be the best.
Nearly 1,000 journalists want to attend the evening
speech, that begins at 7 p.m. They will have to arrive earlier that 4 p.m., as
to catch a good spot and a good story of the events.
Europeans who will vividly participate in Obama’s
speech hope that his arrival and intentions will be good enough for a potential
new direction to international relationships.
Many of the people interviewed about Obama’s
candidature said that they prefer him instead of President Bush or his
Republican rival, Senator John McCain.
Obama also plans to meet in Berlin opposition
leaders From France and England this week. His speech was firstly held on
Wednesday night on his boat, during an English-class.
A New Zealander who came to Berlin for study during
the summer said that the whole world prefers Obama to be president. Wolfgang
Ohm, a psychologist from Berlin also stated that Obama acts like a president.
64% of the France people, 62% of the German one and
60% of the Britons say that Obama will do best for presidency. On June 3 when
Obama won delegates to clinch the Democratic nomination, his fans donned hats
and T-shirts.
