Stephenie Meyer’s “Breaking Down” Tells the Story of a Friendly Vampire

“Vampire” fans are anxious to read the new story about the love between a teenage girl and a 100-year-old vampire.

“Breaking Down,” the final book of the “Twilight” series, written by Stephenie Meyer, one of the “most promising new authors of 2005,” as she was named in a Publishers Weekly review after the publication of its first novel, “Twilight,” tells the story of young Bella, who moves in Forks, Walsh., and falls for a an extremely handsome gentleman, who happens to be a 100-year-old vampire.

“Stephenie Meyer has written a dazzling grand finale to an epic love story,” commented Megan Tingley, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers’ Senior Vice President and Publisher on Stephenie Meyer’s official Web site. “And with the extraordinary excitement surrounding the publication of Breaking Dawn, I’m thrilled that legions of new readers will now discover the saga that has already captivated millions around the world.”

Her first book, “Twilight,” was one of 2005’s most talked about novels and it attracted thousands of readers. Its translation rights have been sold in 33 countries.

The vampire story is not a violent one. It is a story about different kinds of love, from maternal love and love for a friend to general concepts, such as love for life.

“Breaking Down” has a first printing of 3.2 million copies. The book goes on sale Aug. 2. “New Moon,” the second book of the series, which was released in September 2006, spent over 30 weeks at the #1 position on The New York Times bestseller list.

Oh, please, kiddies.
Hush.
Breaking Down is the perfect name for one of the worst books on the market. A vampire/human love saga that ends in a halfling child. Wait, what?
Really, the book was a disappointment, the complete 'Breaking Down' of the Twilight series.
Open your eyes, lovies.
See how blind you've been all along.
No, that sounds right

Breaking Down is pretty appropriate if I do say so myself. This book was a huge disappointment.

Of course, Amy, that would be your opinion. I thought it was great. And yes, it is Breaking Dawn. Breaking Down is the title of a spoof Stephenie has written (as far as I know) and is contemplating showing to the public.
