'The Beatles: Rock Band' Coming Your Way September 9th
Apple Corps, Harmonix and MTV Games confirmed the release of The Beatles: Rock Band on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii at the same time - on September 9th this very year.

The game, as you may already know, will allow fans to pick up the guitar, bass, mic or drums and experience The Beatles' catalogue through gameplay that takes players on a trip through their career from their first album through the last sessions.

It has also been confirmed that the game will come with specially designed peripherals modeled after the instruments that John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr played. The game will sell for $59.99 but the Beatles guitar controllers specific to the game will come separately for $99.99. A limited edition premium bundle, featuring controllers modeled after instruments played by the band, will sell for a hefty $249.99.

"The project is a fun idea which broadens the appeal of the Beatles and their music,” Paul McCartney offered in a statement. "I like people having the opportunity to get to know the music from the inside out."

The release will mark the first time the music of The Beatles has been licensed for use in a video game, after receiving the thumbs up from Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr Yoko Ono, wife of the late John Lennon, and Olivia Harrison, wife of the late George Harrison.

The announcement also warns of future preorder exclusives with details expected "in the coming months." The game’s official Website is active and promises updates.
