Apple Rejects, Then Approves, Twitter Application
I guess this comes no longer as a surprise for anyone: Apple has closed its doors for yet another iPhone application. The Twitter app was rejected for too much swearing apparently,  but this is where I don’t get it: it’s not the app that’s swearing, it’s the people who use it. So, basically, Apple reserves the right to choose what people may or may not do once they purchase their iPhone?

As strange as it may seem, here is what Apple had to say in its application denial:

“Applications must not contain any obscene, pornographic, offensive, or defamatory content or materials of any kind (text, graphics, images, photographs, etc.) or other content or materials that in Apple’s reasonable judgment may be found objectionable by iPhone or iPod Touch users.” (provided by Computerworld).

This is one of the reasons why I’ll never buy an iPhone: Apple doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing, and they’re taking too many privileges when it comes to their users. Last time I checked, Apple wasn’t in charge of what people may or may not Twitter about.

Furthermore, considering the success of the App Store, it’s still quite strange how Apple keeps rejecting applications that seem to be popular and demanded by users.

Anyway, after all the aggravation, it has been confirmed that Apple has allowed the application to be offered on the App Store. That’s probably the best way to show that even they had to admit their rejection was unfounded.
