Less than a couple of weeks after the debut of Disney’s concert movie “Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert Experience,” the sibling band has revealed dates for a world tour. The 44-date North American tour is scheduled to kick off on June 20 at the Dallas Cowboys New Stadium in Texas and is due to conclude on August 31, at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. However, prior to the North American arena dates, the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 is expected to hold several gigs in South America in mid-May and head to the United Kingdom and Europe in early June. The sibling music act’s trek will also include appearances by “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks and rock group Honor Society. Tickets in North America are expected to be available for exclusive sale to Jonas Brothers fan club members in select cities starting March 16. Moreover, the general public will be able to purchase tickets as well beginning March 20 via livenation.com. The Jonas Brothers World Tour promotes the trio’s latest studio album, “A Little Bit Longer,” which opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 last summer. The Hollywood Records set has sold approximately 1.49 million copies, consistent with figures released by Nielsen SoundScan. The Jonas Brothers’ concert film ranked No. 2 during its debut weekend by grossing $12 million. The first spot at the North American box office was held by Tyler Perry’s “Madea Goes to Jail.”
