Tricky Apple Will Release Unlocked iPhone on the French Market

Why is Apple Inc. a tricky one? We all have known that its iPhone will eventually hit also the European market, haven’t we? And that’s a normal, obvious thing to happen and everyone knew it. We all have been also aware of the fact that among the most important markets one should definitely mention France, along with Germany and the United Kingdom.

Everything seems just obvious till now, isn’t it? Well, the thing that most of us haven’t known till today is that in France there is a law that forbids the companies to bundle their cell phones to a mobile operator! In this context isn’t it odd that Apple Inc. has decided to eventually allow its iPhone to become an open platform just days before launching the iPhone in France?

Yes, it is true that the iPhone has been AT&T’s best-selling device since its release and yes, it is true that Apple Inc. has sold till now 1.3 million items on the American market; still, wouldn’t the European markets represents gold mines for the famous American company, after all this time that the Europeans have awaited for the iPhone? The flexibility that the third-party applications would invest in Apple’s iPhone and the fact that France’s Orange mobile carrier will sell unlocked iPhone (excepting also the locked ones), is likely to transform France into the next big market for Apple’s ultimate gadget. And furthermore, the fact that Apple has eventually announced its allowing the third-party developers to write application for the iPhone could make everybody at least hope that someday in the near future the iPhone will officially get unlocked.

The iPhone is to hit the French stores starting November.
