Radiohead US Tour Debuts In May

Radiohead finally made the big announcement: their North American tour will debut in May, and eight stops have been confirmed. It is the first North American tour in two years for them.

The alt-rock band will stop first in West Palm Beach on May 5 and will go on with their North-American leg of the tour in arenas and amphitheatres from Tampa, FL (May 6), Atlanta (May 8), Charlotte, NC (May 9), Bristow, VA (May 11), St Louis, Missouri (May 14), Houston (May 17). The final gig will be in Dallas, on May 18.

The tickets will become available for purchase starting with February 14 for members of Radiohead’s W.A.S.T.E. fan organization. The general public will be able to purchase tickets starting with February 16.

The band will head for Europe afterwards for another round of gigs on the old continent. The European leg of their tour will kick off in Dublin on June 6 and will come to an end on July 8 in Berlin.

Afterwards Radiohead will return for the second leg of their North American tour. The dates and cities remain yet to be announced, however Boston, Chicago or Los Angeles are a certain.

The band’s latest album “In Ranbows” has been released online in October, leaving the fans the possibility to choose the purchase price. They have sold more than 1 million copies in the digital format, according to reports. In January a traditional CD format of the album was launched, and according to Nielsen SoundScan, it sold 311,000 more copies.

The artists’ former record label EMI has announced that a greatest-hits album will be launched this spring, however the rockers clearly highlighted that they wouldn’t promote the release during their tour.
