Doug Liman's sci-fi thriller topped the box office revenues chart with $27 million, smoking by around $7 million Disney's teen dance sequel, "Step Up 2 the Streets." Media By Numbers LLC reported that, according to its estimates, third came The Spiderwick Chronicles with just a few hundreds of thousands in revenues behind Step Up. Studio executives pushed most movies in theaters since Thursday to maximize profits over the weekend preceding Presidents' Day.

The top flick of the weekend features Hayden Christensen as a man who can teleport himself anywhere due to a strange genetic anomaly. He is hunted down by jumper-killer Samuel L. Jackson. The teleporting gift has apparently been around for centuries, which has created a secret organization of people who hunt "jumpers" down (yes, a vampire plot copycat). The superficial action movie goes with the recent trend and the villains are Christians again.

The movie runs for 90 minutes and is rated PG-13 for sequences of intense action violence, some language and brief sexuality.
