Lauren Conrad, the 22-year-old “Hills’” star, who is also a
student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, held her
first fashion show Tuesday at the Mercedes-Benz L.A. Fashion Week. However, the
new designer revealed for The Associated Press that the show won’t be featured
on her popular reality show, because she doesn’t want to mix her MTV project
with “what I do in my spare time.”
She also adds for The AP that “I kinda like that it’s
separate. It’s not something that I really want to be part of a reality
television show. It’s a career I want beyond my 15 minutes.” However, when
asked how she felt at her first fashion show, L.C. responded “I didn’t really
get to see it. I was busy getting them all ready backstage.”
As things are never perfect, a small mishap thing
happened during the show: one of the models accidentally slipped out of her
left shoe, but got out of this situation very well by coolly kicking off the
other one when reaching the end of the catwalk. How did Conrad comment this
situation? Well, by saying “Poor thing. It happens.”
Lauren brought 30 different looks from her fall 2008 line,
inspired by her recent trip to Paris,
which will be shown on “The Hills” when it returns March 24. The line included
flowy wraps and strapless dresses which were accessorized with leather gloves
and berets.
Furthermore, among Lauren’s friend who came to support her
from the first row, such as Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port,
Lauren “Lo” Bosworth, Stephen Colletti and former boyfriend Brody Jenner, an
unexpected figure was seen at the event, Lauren’s long-time nemesis Kristin
Cavallari. The two were enemies since the fighting over Stephen Colletti on “Laguna Beach.” However,
it appears that their relationship has loosened up.
