The music industry has a new favorite, young Miley Cyrus.
She’s popular among preteens, teens and parents, and she’s also becoming one of
the paps’ favorites. Miley has earned huge success with the “Hannah Montana”
show, her 3-D movie and performed impeccably at her sold-out concert-tour.
Besides all these accomplishments, Miley Cyrus is also co-hosting
the CMT Awards alongside her father, country singer/songwriter Billy Ray. The father
and daughter will be the hosts of the ceremony aired on Country Music
Television at 8 p.m. from Belmont University’s Curb Event Center.
Like every year, it will be the fans who decide which video
is awarded, only that the surprise of this year is that five more categories
were included, among which the tearjerker video of the year. Billy Ray’s
“Ready, Set, Don’t Go” stands all odds to win that one, as the song follows
Miley’s growing up.
There is no surprise that Miley and Billy Ray are set to
sing together at the CMT. Brad Paisley and Sugarland, who both were shortlisted
four times are also to perform, along with Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and
Taylor Swift (the last three receiving three nominations each).
Even though Miley Cyrus obviously enjoys being part of the
event, she stated that she would stick with what she’s best at, which is pop.
“I think you should stick to the genre you’re best at. They’re good at that
kind of thing, and I’m best at pop music,” the young artist said.
Miley also performed at the last month’s Nickelodeon Kids’
Choice Awards and won two awards and appeared on the charity edition of
“American Idol,” Fox’s “Idol Gives Back” the last week.
