Restraining Order Extended Against Spears’ Ex-Manager

A Los Angeles judge extended a restraining order against Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lufti until July 31, under an agreement between lawyers for both sides, BBC News reports. The restraining order was originally put in place in February.

According to Britney Spears’ attorney, Vivian Thoreen, extending the order was “in the best interests” of the pop singer. Meanwhile, Lufti’s lawyer Michael Sands claimed that “Sam and his family are co-operating and trying to do what's best.”

“He respects Britney, he respects the temporary restraining order, and everyone is beating him up for no reason,” Sands said last month. “Enough is enough,” she added.

Sam Lufti is not allowed to go within 250 yards of Spears’ for further three months. The star’s mother, Lynne Spears, obtained the original restraining order in a Los Angeles court, after she accused Lutfi of drugging her daughter in order to take control of her life and fiancés. Britney’s father, James Spears, is in charge of her affairs until 31 July.

Earlier this year, the 26-year-old entertainer was hospitalized twice and placed under psychiatric evaluation at UCLA Medical Center. However, she has recently returned to work and managed to win praises after she appeared as a guest star in the CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” as a dermatologist office assistant named Abby. On Saturday, she was involved in a minor traffic accident on a Los Angeles freeway, when she rear-ended another car with her Mercedes, Reuters reports.
