Miley Cyrus, better known as “Hannah Montana,” the daughter
of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, will be writing a memoir about her journey
to stardom, the Disney Book Group said on Tuesday.
The book written by the 15-year-old teen idol will be
published by Dysney-Hyperion books and it is scheduled to reach bookshelves
next spring. It will also include photos from her famous family.
"I am so excited to let fans in on how important my
relationship with my family is to me," Cyrus said in a statement. "I
hope to motivate mothers and daughters to build lifetimes of memories together,
and inspire kids around the world to live their dreams."
The book, which is designed to serve as a model for children
and adolescents and not to increase her popularity, will tell the story of her
life, focusing mostly on her relationship with momager Leticia.
The memoir is due out in spring 2009, at the time when the
Hanna Montana movie is scheduled to be released on the big-screen.
“Hannah Montana” ranks first among TV series on U.S. cable
television for children aged 6 to 14 and reaches more than 164 million viewers
worldwide, according to Disney. It focuses on the double life led by a girl who
is a teenager as well as a super star. As of 2006, her father is co-staring in
the Disney Channel original television series. With Billy Ray Cyrus as a
father, no wonder the girl has talent. Her father, best known for his hit
single “Archy Breaky Heart,” has eight top-ten singles on the Billboard country
music charts.
