On Tuesday, Israel
sealed its crossings with the Gaza Strip, in return to a rocket assault across
borders, says The Associated Press.
On Monday, late afternoon, Palestinians fired a missile, but
the occurrence had no damages and nobody was hurt.
As a consequence of gun attacks, the border crossings will
be closed for five days, as an order from Defense Minister Ehud Barak At the
moment, the access will be allowed only to pedestrians, said a military
spokesperson. In spite of this, the Gaza Strip's boundary with Egypt
had to open for two days to let the mass of people trapped on both sides to
cross.
Additionally, Palestinian people in need of medical care
will be allowed in Egypt,
informed the Egyptian diplomat Nabil Amr on Monday. Moreover, Palestinians who
went abroad will be consented to come back.
Tony Blair, the former prime minister of Britain, who
part of the last year was an international representative to Palestinian
citizens, said that it will be difficult for the parts implicated in the
conflict to gain a grasp. In a discussion with his Jerusalem offices, Tony Blair said that “the
view of what is happening here tends to lurch between unjustified optimism —
pretty rare, actually — to unnecessarily bleak pessimism, which is more
common”. He then added that “there is a cease-fire now and both sides think the
other’s commitment is tactical rather than strategic.”
