Linsday Lohan’s father decided to take the paternity test and find out if Ashley, now 13, really is his daughter. Michael Lohan told E!News he provided a DNA sample for paternity test this morning. He said he had a relationship with Kristi Kauffman 12 years ago.

Michael Lohan told the Daily News Kauffman “said she believed the child was mine and stated that I was the only man she was with.” “I find it hard to believe because she has had three other relationships since that time and is going through another divorce now.” The two met again while Kristi was going through the difficult period of divorce in 1995. Michael was then separated from Lindsay’s mother, Dina, the woman whom she married in 1985. Michael and Dina divorced in 2007.

Ashley’s mother claims Michael Lohan called his daughter this year on her anniversary. The two spoke on the phone but he has never visited her. He met Dina in Houston, Tex. in 1982.

On the other hand, Lohan said he has “some serious doubts” about the results of the paternity test “after investigating Kristi background.” He said Kristi called him 10 years later after her first divorce and told him that “her husband at that time turned negative in the paternity test, and she told me that meant I was the father.”

“I just want this to be resolved and the truth to be told,” the mystery woman told E! News.
