A former boyfriend of Christina Applegate was found dead in his Hollywood apartment, it was reported Tuesday.

Lee Grivas, aged 26 years old, was a skateboarder and a photographer who had been dating the actress on and off for more than two years. With regard to the recent death, the “Married with Children” star said in a statement to E! News that she is “profoundly saddened.”

“Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life. He is missed beyond words.” The actress also thinks about the pain his family members and friends feel.

The body of the man was discovered by a neighbor on Tuesday on the living room floor of his apartment building, reported TMZ.com. He was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal occurrence.

The Los Angeles Police Department said that they made a report on July 1 but would not reveal any additional details, awaiting the outcome of the autopsy and toxicology analysis.

According to The National Enquirer, Grivas was in recurrent battle with narcotics and alcohol. For several times, Christina Applegate brought the relationship to an end for the reason that he was struggling with getting clean.

They actress and the photographer started dating in 2006, a year after Jonathan Schaech, her husband, filed for divorce.
